How to Measure Distances is an ongoing Spock/McCoy fiction project. All these stories take place along one timeline, which adheres to the canon timeline, but each segment can be read on its own. (That means you can skip right to the smut. Or you can skip over the smut, though I can't imagine why you'd want to do that. Unless you're my mom.)

My original intention was to hold all these segments until the project was completely finished, then post it all at once. But after a while I realized how long that might take, and so instead I am posting them as I complete them. Therefore, you'll find there are many gaps in between segments. If you're familiar with the TOS television and film canon, then there shouldn't be too much confusion about how Spock and McCoy's relationship progresses in these stories, and you'll no doubt be able to put each segment in context. But check back and keep an eye out for new segments which pre-date the ones you've already read.

Red borders are for stories with actual plots

blue borders are for smut,
and
yellow borders are for stories that are on the way.

All along, he'd been trying to drop hints to Spock, and now he wondered if Spock hadn't been hitting him over the head with hints of his own.

"Say out loud exactly what you want. And if you lie, I will know it."   "Of course, I still believed in the superiority of the Vulcan way of life. But as a scientist I was curious."

"Leonard, when I chose to bond with you, I trusted that you would not exploit our link in this manner."
His mind followed the thread backward. Why he'd come straight here. Why he'd been in sickbay. Why he'd been accused of drinking. Why there had been a wake.

But Amanda's answer was no comfort to McCoy, as it had been no comfort to her.

Just when he should have felt warm and content, McCoy got a powerful chill...
