024 - DREAM, PART THREE

THE ADVENTURES OF PIPPIN IN THE MYSTERIOUS COMPOUND.

Pippin
This doesn't look like a radio station at all. Where are the ugly guys in Hawaiian shirts with voices that make them sound handsome?

Pippin
Maybe this is where they do the shows. *opens door*

Pippin
Wow, look at all the TV screens!
Pippin
Hey, It's Bono!

Pippin
...Bono is a Jedi?

Pippin
Hey, these shows are all people's dreams!
People who live in Fooksburgh! Even Pac-Man!

Corporate Wonk
*walking by the door* Now, if you'll follow me, Mr. Xrbt, we'll just have you sign the paperwork and we'll begin broadcasting the batch of DreamVids.

Pippin
!

Pippin

*follows them*

Corporate Wonk
As per your request, we created a special channel exclusively featuring the dreams of Japanese schoolgirls.

Corporate Wonk
Alright, Mr. Xrbt, you're all set. Have a safe trip home to your planet.

Corporate Wonk
Hey!

Pippin
Uh oh.

Corporate Wonk
What are you doing here, little boy?

Pippin
Um...I'm lost.

Corporate Wonk
Access to this building is highly restricted. How did you get in?

Pippin
Well, I have a few questions for you! What's going on here? I though this was a radio station. Are you selling our dreams to aliens?

Corporate Wonk
*sigh* Little boy, you have to understand. We need a way to build our city and buy all the things our citizens want...

Corporate Wonk
But this is Fooksburgh. Everyone here is entitled to freedom from misery. We can't just build our society on the backs of slaves or the Irish like everyone else did.

Corporate Wonk
So the city's economy is largely powered by sales of Earthling dreams to extraterrestrials.

Corporate Wonk
But you must never tell anyone about this. If people knew that aliens were watching their dreams, there would be rioting in the streets!

Pippin
I don't know...I'm not very good at keeping secrets.

Corporate Wonk
Well in that case, we can strap you in a chair and rip the memories of this place from your memory using a mind-control beam.

Pippin
Hmm, you know what? I think I'll just keep quiet about it. That solution seems to have fewer, uh, lasers.

Corporate Wonk
Alright then. Run along, now.

Corporate Wonk
Goodbye!

Pippin
...

Pippin
Echo will never forgive me if I don't bring back one of these cool dream machines.

Pippin
Yoink!
